My daughter had a heroin problem for the past 5 years. She had been injecting heroin and taking crack cocaine and also ketamine on a regular basis. She was in such a destructive pattern and both my husband and I feared for her life and our sanity.
I contacted 1-1 detox as they were recommended to me by a friend. It was the treatment my daughter needed for her addiction problem. A nurse came to my home and completed a full assessment of the addiction problem and planned the whole addiction treatment in our home which also included a consultant psychiatrist's assessment.

1-1 detox turned my life around. I had previously been to a 12 step treatment centre but was not comfortable in a group situation. 1-1 detox came to my house and assessed me and set everything up in a matter of 2 days. After completing the detox i felt that my dignity and self respect was restored.
My drug addiction was spiralling out of control and I needed addiction treatment in London that was tailored to my specific problem and also an aftercare programme that was equally as unique. I found that with 1-1 detox. I owe my life to 1-1 detox.

The two outstanding features of 1-1: first the nursing care was superb. Claudia was kind and extremely caring, but tough enough to deal with an awkward cuss like me. She had obviously assessed my needs and personality most acutely. She ensured that I was as comfortable as possible at all times and supplied delicious food and drink that helped enormously. She was patient and understanding while remaining sensibly firm throughout my periods of extreme motility.
Next the post-detox backup. After a fairly rapid detox it obviously takes some time before emotion equilibrium can be regained. Throughout this period Brendan Quinn was very supportive, and always there to discuss my problems and state of mind. Knowing that I had someone to talk to who understood the nature of what was happening to me was very reassuring. Brendan also liaised with the Stapleford to ensure that medication reached me on time: this was a great help.

“Dear Brendan, please accept my apologies for not replying sooner, it's been a hectic few months! I can only make positive comments regarding your company and J's treatment. Claudia was excellent! She fitted in to the household immediately and got J through the difficult early days of detox. As he began to improve she set him tasks to achieve and got him back into the outside world again, which was crucial as his confidence had taken a knock and he was physically quite weak, not his usual self at all.
J got on very well with Claudia, watching football, tennis and films, playing music and chatting in the garden. Claudia also encouraged J to eat, despite his appetite being poor, and now it's back to normal. Claudia got J back into organizing his days, a skill he had temporarily lost, and this aided his recovery greatly as he'd become vague and unfocused. Her overall strategy was subtle, skilful, and effective!
J is now 7 weeks without alcohol and working hard to maintain sobriety. He actually now looks fit and healthy and has lost some weight.
