The following is a genuine case study from one of our clients, written after he had benefited from the 1-1 detox approach.
“I was fortunate enough to be introduced to 1-1 detox 13 months ago. At that time alcohol was consuming my life, I was drinking 3 bottles of wine a day, going to bed drunk every night, my wife and children were at their wits’ end. I had tried in-patient treatment and had never completed a detox before, I just couldn’t get on with the group work or being in the hospital environment. When I heard about 1-1 detox myself and my wife knew it was right for me.
The assessment was so reassuring, I met the managing director of the company who came to my home and explained the whole procedure to me and my wife and assessed me physically and psychologically as well as running some blood tests to check my state of health. We never felt pressured to go ahead, on the contrary it was made quite clear that if for any reason I wasn’t physically able for the detox at home I would be given treatment alternatives, fortunately this was not the case.

She was wonderful, as well as looking after my health and making sure my alcohol withdrawal was comfortable she encouraged me to attend fellowship meetings and got me out to yoga and acupuncture which I had not experienced before, she wasn’t pushy, I could have stayed at home if I wanted but her gentle encouragement and 1-1 companionship got me out there. She was also a great support to my wife and children who became very fond of her.
She left us after 10 days and I haven’t had a drink since, I still attend meetings and am in regular telephone contact with 1-1 detox. I would not hesitate in recommending a 1-1 detox to someone battling alcohol or drug addiction. I had tried many in patient options but this is what worked for me and my family.”
